What Has Spinning And Internet Marketing Got In Common?

Posted on January 18, 2012 by Dave W

This morning I was at the gym and participating in a computer generated spinning class.

I started to daydream and it came to me that my efforts in my sporting and keeping fit life and my online Internet Marketing life have similar properties.

They both require me to set goals and targets and to focus my efforts. If I was to stop my activities for any length of time I would soon begin to suffer.

However, in my spinning session, during a particularly hard part my instructor said that if I needed a rest to take a seat.

This is true in my online world where I sometimes have to take a break from things.

It does not mean that I can get off the bike and give up, once I get my breath back it is time to continue.

I also think that for me to be successful in both areas I need to be shown the way now and again. Having a mentor in the online world ensures I am following a successful strategy and kept up to date with the ever changing environment.

Having a personal trainer to occasionally give me some new material and to give me a kick up the backside keeps me on my toes. If only they weren’t so expensive, I would use one more often if they charged a reasonable amount.

I suppose it comes down to perceived value for money and paying for someone to make me suffer just doesn’t tempt me as much as paying for someone to help me make money.

Another similarity is that sometimes in both activities you have to get out of your comfort zone. In my online world I have to venture outside my comfort zone but having a mentor helps if I venture too far out of it.

Getting out of my comfort zone in my fitness regime is a necessary evil and unfortunately as I age I find the time actually spent in my comfort zone reduces as the years go by.

Keep Moving

Dave
