Techniques For Cycling Within Europe

A few pointers are important to understand before you take off on your biking trip. Lots of people think that the idea of cycling within a country is fun and exciting- which it is-, but they fail to realize how much preparation is required before setting off on the adventure.
First of all, you need to be physically fit in order to partake on this experience. Often times, people do not realize how physically straining it may be. If you are not use to riding a bike for a few hours or even more a day, it is important to train the body by biking around home for five or even more hours a day a few days a week.
The next thing you should do to plan for your trip is to evaluate which the best bike for the adventure will be. A mtb is the best choice for people who are not experienced bikers. This is because a mountain bike should handle all types of surface ground. The only real drawback is that these types of bikes are heavy and can slow you down. A tour bike will be lighter and easier to ride on the concrete or cobblestone surface.
Determine the details of your trip by deciding what country or countries you would like to tour, what the best time of the year is to bike within the location that you desire, and the cost of flights, food, and lodging. Should you choose your research online, you will find that there are many cycling packages available from a variety of companies that help you plan for your trip. Many people prefer to bike during cooler seasons rather than when it is hot.
Make a plan of what you will do and where your destinations are each day. Some people enjoy living life about the edge and not making plans. This can be fun, but don’t forget that you only have a bike. If you cannot find a vacant hotel or hostel, you may be riding your bike whatsoever hours of the night.
You may consider not bringing your bike from home and just buying one when you turn up. This is a legitimate thought; however, you are already familiar with your bike from home and it. If you need to replace a component, you will be more acquainted with that than you would with a completely new bike.
Search on the internet for more tips on cycling in Europe. There is a lot to consider which has not all been mentioned here. Traveling around Europe on the bike can be one of the most rewarding experiences in your life. You will see things you haven’t seen before, and experience a different travel experience than you would on a bus or a train.

What is a good route for a cycling holiday in the Netherlands?
I recently asked a related question, about going on a cycling holiday. This USED to be for some use, but now, unfortunately, my mum has got a hip injury, so we can’t cycle, but my dad is making me do this as a damned project, so I need to know anyway. A list of towns would be cool, and perhaps a nice way to go in your experience?
Answer
I did several cycling holidays in the Netherlands. Used to sleep on small camp sites. The nice thing about the Netherlands is that there are a lot of nice bicycle tracks were you cycle through the nature without a road next to you.
The Veluwe and Drenthe are very nice area’s with a lot of forest.
The coast in North and South Hollands has nice dunes with cycle tracks.
The north of the Netherlands (Groningen, Friesland) has a nice coastline. There is a track next to the dyke.
Brabant has a nice country site, Limburg is a bit hilly, but also Beautiful.
There is a network of through-going cycle routes throughout the Netherlands, with a total length of more than 4,500 km. All these LF-routes have already been signposted in both directions. Every LF-routes has its own book. It’s handy because sometimes wen a sign is missing you can look it up in that book. The nice thing about LF routes is that the track often goes to nice area’s with bicycle tracks.
