Starting To Plan For The 100
Posted on December 28, 2009 by Dave W
If you have read any other of my posts, you will notice I always like to have a plan.
The say “fail to plan, plan to fail” and I believe this to be true.
This is my first serious thought process on how I would like to prepare for my first 100.
When do I want to achieve it by? July 9th 2010, which is my birthday and taking time off training for our wedding gives me around 6 months to train.
How much time will I train each week? As much as I can, without causing above mentioned wedding to be cancelled.
As much time as possible will be spent on my bike on Saturday mornings, and around 3 times a week in the gym on the stationery bike or the spinning bike.
Check out any local charity rides which can be used as part of the training.
Being an endurance event, the most important thing is to build up to the distance slowly, but surely.
Time in the saddle is essential and it is imperative I get out on my bike as much as possible.
To be continued……..

I didn’t expect to get any training in before the new year, but managed a quick hours spinning, using the mp3 download I bought.
I don’t think I could complete a decent workout on the spinning bike without help.
It is just like having your own personal trainer with you.
