Knees And Back – Here We Go Again!

Posted on November 18, 2011 by Dave W

I am still refusing to give in but it is getting harder all the time.

They say there is nothing down for growing old. I think I prefer it to the alternative though!

Over the years I have had problems with my right knee. Now my left one has come out in sympathy or it could be attention seeking.

My back was injured in a car accident a few years ago, honestly your honor!

Just recently after Badminton and Cycling, especially Badminton. My knees and my back have given me some cause for concern.

I have missed 2 Badminton sessions and 2 Cycling trips and I am not amused. My wife thinks it is time for me to hang up my racket as running about the court is probably the cause of most of the damage. I agree with the latter part of her statement but, maybe foolishly, I refuse to accept defeat.

A few years ago when my knee stopped me from doing anything for about 9 months my doctor told me to do as much as I could and to work around the pain.

Basically, what he meant was that it was no point him telling me to stop all activity because that wouldn’t be good for me. I was to do whatever I could and exercise as much as I could within the constraints my aging body would allow.

So, yes there isn’t much to be said for getting old but on the other hand you don’t have to go down without a fight.

Keep Moving
