Hobbies That Help You Lose Weight

Hiking can be a great activity for burning calories; you can alter the intensity of hiking by choosing your hiking trail carefully. Trails with lots of hills can lead to a very intense workout. Weekend backpacking trips can be a great way to get away from the stress of modern society and back into nature, and can help clear your mind as well as burn off a whole load of excess calories.
Cycling is a relaxing way to burn calories and boost your metabolism. You can work bicycling into your daily life; if it’s possible to bicycle to work or school, consider doing so. You can get things done while burning calories at the same time. After you’ve been cycling for a while, and have increased your level of fitness substantially, consider going on group rides. In group rides, many cycling enthusiasts group up to cycle around town. It can be a demanding workout since you may have to push yourself to keep up with the group.
Swimming is a great way to get fit and lose weight if the weather permits. It’s easy on the joints, and so is suitable for older people or people with preexisting joint or back conditions. Water provides a lot of resistance, and swimming takes most every muscle in your body in order to propel yourself through the water, so it can be a great source of strength training. Increased muscle mass raises your basal metabolic rate – the number of calories your body must burn each day for maintenance purposes.
Gardening is a hobby that most people don’t think about when they think about physically active hobbies; however, weeding, planting, and watering can take considerable amounts of energy. Gardening out in the sun can also help you get your daily supply of vitamin D, which is produced by your skin when the sun’s rays hit it. The constant kneeling and standing up when gardening can help you work out important abdominal and core muscles, which can help prevent back injury.
If nothing else, you can consider taking fitness classes at a gym or community center. Many gyms and community centers offer group fitness classes such as Tai Chi and yoga, which can have numerous health benefits and can be incredibly relaxing. More high intensity workouts are offered too, such as kickboxing-based aerobics or dance aerobics, both of which can be more exciting than usual exercise and which can teach you skills that you can use in your life – which working out on an exercise machine won’t.

How can I gain weight and muscle eat healthily?
My dilema is that I am quite tall and although I do eat healthily in general, I also eat and drink plenty of junk. I have pushed my weight up to 12 stone, but want to increase at least another half stone.
Alot of my weight goes to my stomach so while I look pretty skinny, my belly is pretty big lol.
I on a bit of a fitness bender at the moment, swimming, cycling and playing sports like Badminton.
I find that if I cut things like crisps, chocalate, fizzy drink, cooked breakies etc out of my diet, I lose weight.
But I need to gain muscle and weight, but have it better distrubuted throughout my body rather than concentrated in the belly.
Anyone that has lifestyle and paticuarly eating/drinking suggestions would be much appreciated.
I have thought about taking weight gainer, and have tried one that was absolutely disgusting lol. I’m looking for stuff I can get in the supermarket etc.
Thanks.
Also and fitness muscle building tips would be appreciated!
Answer
last year i was 6ft weighting at 11stones i was pretty skinny didnt know what to do searched the webs for answers cudnt find none but 1year later im 6ft1weighing 13 half stones.
since we all know that advise on gaining weight varies from person to person i think that for someone like you.
you will need to stop playing sports like that they only make you lose more weight and i think if u started playing basketball soccer and take creatine at the same time your body will develop highly needed tesetesterone and it will start building it self up.
eat a lot of pasta bread i tend to cut my meals from 2 large meals into 4 small meals at the same time i drink loads of water and i go gym so yh within half a year you wuld gain half stone and you will look pretty toned it works believe me.
btw drink loads of water and eat plent of meat this increases seculation around your body and it builds a lot of protein.
good luck bro
