Cycling For Fitness
Posted on November 12, 2009 by Dave W
Having recently increased my cycling activity I would like to take this opportunity to share my experience with others who may be looking to lose weight and get fitter.
Since I started regular cycling (six months ago) I have managed to still train with a serious knee injury that meant no running at all. I have lost almost one stone in weight and at the age of 53 feel fitter than I have done for years.
Combining cycling with a healthy (almost) balanced diet has given me the best results I ever had and I have tried many different fitness regimes.
I see many people at the gym going through their routines and many never get out of their comfort zone, which means they don’t get the results they require and simply give up.
As sports science progresses it is quite easy to get confused as last weeks breakthrough becomes old news.
I have found for myself that more intense training sessions give me better improvements than longer sessions. I have trained for hours with limited success, but now train less but more intensely.
One of the great things about Cycling is you can do many different routines to make it more interesting for you. I hope I can motivate you to get on your bike.
