Benefits of Indoor Cycling Systems

Posted on October 31, 2011 by Dave W

Most people know the benefits of exercise, but not everyone who wants to can do it. Those who work or have children to look after in the home cannot go cycling or jogging during the day. In the afternoon it is too late and after dark it is not safe. So basically the only time they can exercise outside the home is at the weekend. And then family commitments may make this difficult.

However, with indoor cycling systems many such problems are solved. Cycling workouts can be done at home whenever it suits you – even in a spare five or ten minutes while the children watch their favourite TV show. cycling training is an excellent way in which to get fit and lose some weight. Indoor cycling training can be done in all weathers, making it the most accessible of all.

In addition, by using a wind trainer you can create many different types of riding conditions, making your indoor cycling more accurately reflect outdoor conditions. You can set it to mimic wind resistance or riding uphill for a more complete body workout. Better still, if you install a cycling computer you will be able to see at a glance your heart rate, the distance travelled, speed and cadence.

This not only allows you to see what you have accomplished, but to set up the next cycling session in a way that will maximise your workout. Knowing your heart rate will show you how hard you are working and you will then be able to monitor your workout in a way that will best provide you with a sustained exercise level – the most beneficial in the long run.

Cadence measures your cycling efficiency and will help you to conserve energy while getting the most out of your exercise. For the serious cyclist who trains to win races, these cycling accessories are necessary additions to the indoor cycling system.
