About
Cycling For Fitness is a blog (weblog) website aimed at those interested in Getting Fitter and Losing Weight.
If you are, shall we say, of a certain age? Or struggling with your fitness or weight loss, you will find something here to help you along your journey.
Fresh content is added regularly.
Articles dealing with fitness and weight loss issues are aimed at helping regular guys and gals to improve themselves.
Cycling For Fitness.com content is provided by Dave Whitworth, a lifelong fitness enthusiast, if not an expert.
Like many others, he has had a long running battle with his fitness and weight.
He cannot offer you any endorsements of many years of cycling and his many achievements. He has not got a PHD in sports science, and he can’t offer you advice as a professional coach.
What he can offer you, is his honest opinion and advice about how at the age of 53 he finally found something that worked for him.
After many years of various forms of training, Dave started to concentrate on cycling for fitness.
Dave has had a lifetime of relative activity within a number of sports, namely soccer, cricket, cycling, basketball and badminton with badminton being the only one still done on a regular basis, a knee injury then prevented any serious training for almost 12 months.
On the road to recovery cycling was used to maintain a level of fitness until running could be done again.
Dave found that because of cycling he may not need to run too much anymore!
His fitness for his Badminton is probably the best it’s been since he started playing almost 20 years ago, and that is down to cycling.
Since increasing his cycling activities Dave has lost almost a stone in weight.
Dave has never been seriously overweight, but being relatively active may be the reason why.
A constant battle made harder by the onset of time. Dave is not ready for his pipe and slippers just yet, and intends to fight on.
This blog is designed to show how good cycling can be to improve your fitness and as an aid to weight loss.
