A Quick 10 Mile – Make That a Slow 10 Mile!
Posted on February 21, 2010 by Dave W
I have struggled so far to get a progressive training programme going.
I had to take my car in to the garage for some work yesterday.
I took my bike with me. nearby the garage was a very steep 3 mile hill which I promised myself I would attack one day.
No time like the present I thought.
I had only been riding about 3 minutes when I hit the hill. Two thirds of the way up I thought I would have to get off and push.
I just managed to get to the top, but get to the top I did.
It felt great and I will use this hill as a means to check my fitness levels in the future.
As I was averaging around 5 mph up the hill, my 10 mile was probably the slowest yet but I felt afterwards like I had done a much longer ride.
Yet more proof that for me, more intense rides are giving me the best results.
Keep Moving
